Ancient Sacred Sites Aligned to the Winter Solstice

There are hundreds of ancient sites, and were many thousands, that align to the winter solstice. However, the following sites mark this solstice alignment in a symbolic way. By doing so, they have encapsulated a profound esoteric wisdom that can still be grasped even in our modern world – outlasting books and texts, which are easily lost and destroyed. These monuments speak to us through thousands of years about the true spiritual significance of the winter solstice.

  1. Thank you all who gathered all these informations about the sacred places aligned to the winter solistice. Its amazing to see that the ancient civilizations celebrated the birth of divine Sun in this period of time as the victory of light against darkness.

I’m looking forward more details about the spiritual meaning of the winter solstice and the relevant ceremony. The previous ceremony for the autumn solistice was a really beautiful and inspiring moment for me!

  3. Very interesting all these! Thank you for this article

It’s impressive that ancient people knew so much about all these and they had so deep knowledge the circle of sun.

From child age I loved the sun I was feeling that Sun was something superior.

I looking forward to learn more about the spiritual meaning of the winter solstice and the ceremony in order to celebrate this rising and winning of Sun against Darkness!

The previous ceremony had also to me a deep impact and a good feeling and peace in my heart

  4. It’s amazing how much precision went into these sites; I’m always struck by the sheer scale of what the people building them have accomplished, and all so long ago. It’s inspiring to say the least, and a good motivator to make sure we make as much of an effort as we can to celebrate and honour these events properly today.

  5. Thank you for the inspiring information!

  6. Very interesting and inspiring article. Thanks for compiling all this information. It’s amazing when you think about the knowledge that ancients had.

  7. I am amazed by the similarities of these sacred sites. Their message has defeated time and reaches us now after thousands of years.
It seems that this inner work that we are taught and practice internally connects us with these structures in ways unexpected.
I wonder how the builders, the labourers and the architects of these temples felt when they were creating something so profound. Something built in time but connected with the eternal.

  8. Waow – this is really amazing to read, and see how everywhere in the world, this cosmic event was really appreciated, understood and that people came together to celebrate the spiritual openly, and for generations to have in turn.

So much hard work obviously yet even more love, done to withstand the test of time so that humanity could remember what LIFE is really all about.

  9. Amazing to learn about the profound significance encoded in these sacred sites. Thank you for putting this together. I hadn’t even heard of some of the sites like Newgrange. Perhaps it’s not as famous because it’s not as immediately impressive from the outside like a Pyramid is, so that might be why we don’t hear about it so much in pop culture, but what is going on within it sounds amazing. I hope I can visit one of these sites one day; it must be very inspiring.

  10. This was very inspiring to read. It’s amazing how interconnected all these “mysterious” places are all around the world. I wish humanity was that interconnected too, with everyone working along these fundamental principles of creation, birth of the spiritual, using beauty, sacred geometry and love to commemorate the essence of life.

    Strength!

  11. Thank you for this inspiring and amazing information.

I also haven’t heard about Newgrange, it seems very interesting. It will be nice to visit it.

It’s amazing how the Sacred Sites speak about the path of awakening. It’s magical and gives much strength, a big uplift.

    Thank you once again.

  13. For some reason I am really strongly drawn to Glastonbury Tor, more than any other sacred site in the world. It must have been amazing to have a world where there were thousands of sites dedicated to the celebration of different aspects of the path to awakening!
