The autumn equinox is a mysterious time. It marks an essential passage in the spiritual work that is often overlooked, misunderstood, and mistaken as dark and heretical.
The autumn equinox is the time of balance between day and night, before night takes over and brings the coming winter, a time of darkness and death. This duality between light and dark exists within humanity, and in the work of spiritual transformation. All things must die before they can be born, all spiritual ascent requires descent first, and all those who long for light must firstly face their own inner darkness and overcome it.

For me, so many years have passed by and I would see the equinoxes and solstices marked on the calender, and would often wonder at their significance but had no real way of deeply investigating it. Very revolutionary information and it’s amazing how universal the symbolism is! I was looking at images of the different gods from different traditions while reading through and it’s truly amazing how similar they are.
It is an amazing thing to get to the roots of what the universe teaches us! I feel that there is so much inner information for the meaning of Autumn Equinox that I can’t tolarate it sometimes!!
As Alexandros I’ve read this article several times to still find myself having many questions about the Autumn Equinox and feeling astonished by how much reference can be found in ancient teachings.
One thing that really stands out for me is that I never considered my Divine Mother being a warrior, a force of destruction or death. It’s interesting to read and gives a new perspective on the death of my egos and the attitude I can have towards them.
The Autumn Equinox is fast approaching here in the Southern Hemisphere , only 19 days ahead..
Reading over the meaning of this ceremony just helps to put the inner work in larger perspective and gives a lot to reflect upon.
